The notes
The Municipal Garden fills a block on Avenida Arriaga opposite the Municipal Theatre, on the site of the old São Francisco convent. It is small (8,300 m²) and flat by Funchal standards, with shade trees, a lake and a stream with fish, ducks and swans, an amphitheatre and a café terrace. Neither source mentions a playground: for that, walk ten minutes west to Parque de Santa Catarina.
