Beach in Lagos
Tiny cliff cove with no beach services or 2026 lifeguard designation. A 2024 cliff collapse destroyed its eastern steps; the council was still planning stabilisation in May 2026. Check access signs.
No beach services or 2026 lifeguard designation. The eastern access stairway was destroyed by a cliff collapse in January 2024; the council discussed stabilisation in May 2026. Do not use damaged steps; confirm whether another legal descent is open. Research — not first-hand.
Access warning (checked 14 October 2026): the municipality says a cliff collapse in January 2024 destroyed the eastern stairway known as “Canelas” and the rock supporting it. In May 2026, stabilisation was still being studied and the council said the old stairway was unlikely to be rebuilt. We could not verify whether another legal descent is open. Respect barriers and check locally before attempting to reach the sand. [CM Lagos, 26 May 2026]
