- The name is said to come from someone painting “Centro Desportivo de Surf” on a rock of the northern groyne in the late 1970s. [cm-almada.pt]
- On ABAE’s 2026 Blue Flag list, like the neighbouring town beaches Santo António, Tarquínio-Paraíso, Dragão Vermelho and Praia Nova. Tarquínio-Paraíso, the most central, has an amphibious wheelchair. [ABAE; cm-almada.pt]
