Algarve Surf School (surf lessons, Sagres)

A Sagres surf school that describes itself as “about 30 years of surf, smiles and salty hair”, teaching mostly at two beaches: Praia da Mareta in Sagres and Praia do Amado on the west coast, picked by the day’s wind and swell [1]. For a family it is one of the few schools here that publishes a separate kids’ lesson with a price.

• Group lesson, 2 hours, meeting at the beach: 65 €; a full surf day with transfer: 70 € [2]
• Private lesson, 1.5 hours: 160 € for one person, plus 65 € for each extra person (up to five) [2]
• Kids’ lesson, ages 6–12, 1.5 hours: 65 € per child [2]
• The page says 5% off when booking more than three days and 15% off more than five days; ask the school how this applies to its three- and five-day courses. Beach transport costs 5 € per person [2].
