The notes
What the sources say (research)
- An official bathing beach in Arcozelo, Vila Nova de Gaia, on ABAE’s 2026 Blue Flag list; the neighbouring Senhor da Pedra beach, about 250 m north, is on the list too. [ABAE 2026]
- The Capela do Senhor da Pedra, a small hexagonal chapel, was built on a rock by the sea in 1763 and stands on Senhor da Pedra beach. [pt-Wikipedia]
- Bathing season and lifeguards 2026: 13 June to 13 September. Outside it, assume none. [Portaria 204-A/2026]
- Without a car: Miramar is a halt on CP’s urban Aveiro line, about 18 minutes from Campanhã on stopping trains, and about 550 m in a straight line from the beach by our estimate from OSM. Not every train stops: in October 2026 about 29 trains a weekday called here from Campanhã, roughly one an hour on Saturdays and Sundays. Only a few of them start at São Bento (27–32 minutes), so from the centre you usually change at Campanhã. Check the timetable for your date. [CP; CP GTFS; OSM]
