Praia da Fuseta (Fuseta-Ria and Ilha da Fuseta)

Fuseta has two beaches from one quay. Fuseta-Ria (Praia dos Tesos) is on the lagoon at the foot of the village: calm, warm, accessible and, according to the municipality, much loved by children. The island beach (Fuseta-Mar, the eastern tip of Armona island) faces the open sea, about 10 minutes away by a cheap shuttle ferry. Fuseta has its own railway station, so it works without a car. In October boats stop at 17:30 and break for lunch.

What we found (research)

• Fuseta-Ria (Praia dos Tesos): a sandy cove at the foot of the village facing an arm of the Ria. “Muito apreciada pelas crianças” for its calm, warm water. • Praia da Fuseta (sea side) is at the east end of Ilha da Armona, opposite the village. Regular boats from the Fuseta quay; restaurants, WC, beach support and lifeguards in season. Barra Nova further east has no facilities and no lifeguards. [Visit Olhão — Praias]
• Bathing season and Blue Flag period 1 Jun–30 Sep 2026 for both Fuseta-Ria and Fuseta-Mar. [ABAE, 4 Oct 2026]

  • May and October: from Fuseta 09:10, 09:30, then half-hourly to 12:30, then 14:00–17:30 half-hourly; last boat back 17:45.
  • 1–18 June and 18–30 September: roughly every 15 minutes 09:00–18:45 (half-hourly around midday); last back 19:00.
  • July and August: every 5–10 minutes 08:30–19:55; last back 20:05.
• The municipality describes the Fuseta boats as generally hourly in April–May and without a fixed timetable in summer (they leave as passengers arrive). [Visit Olhão — Transportes Fluviais]

• Train: Olhão → Fuseta €1.60 and Faro → Fuseta €2.30 single (CP regional fares valid from 19 Jul 2026). Fuseta station is about 1.3 km north-west of the Fuseta-Ria beach (straight line, OSM). [CP; OSM]

Good to know / Check before you go

• Timetables change by season — check the operator’s current timetable before you go.
• The timetable image is the one the operator labels “Horário 2026”, but the file dates from 2021 and no year is printed on it. Ask at the quay.
• Fares conflict: the operator lists €2.30 adult return; a commercial guide (toursinalgarve.com) lists €2.50. We used the operator’s figure.
