Sight in Faro
Baroque church (finished 1719) on Largo do Carmo with a chapel lined with the bones of over a thousand monks behind it; check the current admission fee before visiting (research).
The chapel walls are lined with human skulls and bones (all sources). That can upset younger children, so it's a parent's call.
The Igreja do Carmo is a twin-towered baroque church just outside the old town, on Largo do Carmo. Behind it is the Capela dos Ossos, a small chapel whose walls are covered in human bones. It is a short visit for adults and older children. With younger kids, think about it first. It’s about 770 m north of the cathedral, so the two make an easy walking pair.
