Sight in Faro
Neoclassical gate (inaugurated 1812, Monumento Nacional) into Faro's walled old town; free to walk through, with a small interpretation centre inside the arch (research).
Short, flat walk between the gate, the Largo da Sé and the waterfront; the Centro Ciência Viva is a few minutes away inside the walls (OSM). No playground in the old town found in sources.
The Arco da Vila is a gate into Faro’s Cidade Velha, the small walled old town between the marina and the Ria Formosa. It costs nothing to walk through and works for everyone, from a lunch-break stroll for remote workers to a short, flat outing with children. The cathedral, the old walls and the waterfront are all within a few hundred metres.
Schematic: positions from each place's coordinates, no roads or coastline. Not for navigation.
