The notes
Fishermen’s Beach is the stretch of sand in front of Albufeira’s old town, running east from Peneco to the boarding pier. Much of it is reserved for the painted fishing boats [1], which is the reason to look at it more than to lie on it.
What we found (research)
- Access by road, by ramp and directly from the town. There are accessible WCs, lifeguards in season, a medical post, a restaurant and a bar [1].
- It is not on the ABAAE Blue Flag list for 2026; neighbouring Peneco is [2]. The two run into each other [1].
- Albufeira’s bathing season runs from 15 May to 15 October [3].
Good to know / Check before you go
- For a swim with children, the council’s information favours Peneco next door: Blue Flag, accessible status and the lift [2].
