The Forte da Ponta da Bandeira is a small square fort built between 1680 and 1690 to guard the entrance to Lagos harbour, with a drawbridge, round guard turrets and a small chapel lined with azulejo tiles. It belongs to the Museu de Lagos, which currently lists it as temporarily closed with no reopening date. It stands on Cais da Solaria by the harbour entrance.
