The notes

Oura is the beach below Albufeira’s nightlife district, Areias de São João, where Avenida Sá Carneiro (“the Strip”) runs. You get down by wooden stairs and a ramp. The council lists it as accessible, with amphibious beach chairs (Tiralô) for hire [1].

What we found (research)

  • Blue Flag 2026, for both Oura and Oura-Leste [2]. Lifeguards in season, plus a medical post, showers, a restaurant and a bar [1].
  • In May 2026 the council issued a special noise order. It named Avenida Sá Carneiro and Rua da Oura among the areas with the most complaints, and it requires venues there to fit certified sound limiters [3].
